Demo Day Checklist¶
This quick-reference checklist outlines how to structure your presentation slides, manage timing, and deliver with confidence on demo day.
Slide Structure¶
- Title slide – Team name, project title, and logo.
- Problem statement – Briefly describe the user pain point.
- Solution overview – Summarize how your product addresses the problem.
- Architecture or workflow – Use a simple diagram to show key components.
- Demo or screenshots – Highlight the most compelling features.
- Market impact – Who benefits and why it matters.
- Call to action – Next steps or what you need from stakeholders.
- Thank you – End with team credits and contact info.
Timing Guidance¶
- Keep the entire presentation to 10 minutes or less.
- Allocate about 1 minute for the title and introduction.
- Spend 2 minutes on the problem and solution slides.
- Limit architecture and demo content to 4 minutes combined.
- Reserve 2 minutes for market impact and call to action.
- Leave 1 minute for closing and quick Q&A.
- Practice with a timer to ensure you stay within the limit.
Delivery Tips¶
- Rehearse out loud multiple times before the event.
- Speak slowly and clearly; pause after key points.
- Keep slides uncluttered—use large text and visuals.
- Make eye contact with the audience, not just the screen.
- If a live demo fails, have screenshots ready as backup.
- Thank the audience and organizers at the end.
