Orientation Policies for HR Onboarding¶
These policies outline the expectations and procedures for onboarding interns into the Innovation Studio. HR can copy and paste the relevant sections into formal documents or onboarding portals.
Schedule and Time Commitment¶
- Orientation Duration: One week of introductory sessions covering program structure, legal considerations, and available resources.
- Weekly Hours: The internship typically requires around 20 hours per week. Actual schedules are flexible to accommodate academic commitments.

Key Policies¶
- FLSA Compliance
- The internship is designed to meet Fair Labor Standards Act requirements for educational training programs.
- Participation is voluntary; interns can end the internship at any time.
- Confidentiality
- Interns must not disclose proprietary or sensitive information learned during the program.
- HR should provide a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for interns to sign before they begin any project work.
- Code of Conduct
- All interns are required to follow the Cortado Group Code of Conduct.
- Treat mentors and peers with respect and professionalism.
- Harassment, discrimination, or unethical behavior will result in removal from the program.
Code of Conduct¶
The Innovation Studio maintains a respectful, inclusive environment for all interns. Review the detailed expectations in code_of_conduct.md. Violations of this policy may result in removal from the program.
- Remote Work Guidelines
- Interns primarily work remotely and should maintain reliable internet access.
- Virtual meetings are held via Zoom, and daily check-ins occur on Slack.
- Deliverables and Feedback
- Assignments and quizzes are submitted through TalentLMS.
- Code projects are pushed to GitHub repositories, where mentors provide feedback via pull requests.
- Communication
- Questions or concerns should be directed to the assigned mentor or HR representative.
- Slack is the preferred channel for daily communication.
